August 18, 2025
Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce says it is concerned about a decline in the West Virginia labor force.
A July job report from Workforce West Virginia says the civilian workforce declined by about 7,000, with total employment falling by nearly 5,000. The state also saw dips in major industries, including mining and hospitality.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce says the numbers are troubling and show economic softening.
