Ours is a history rich in innovation and opportunity. From our earliest days, West Virginia excelled in natural resources and the production of glass, iron, steel, nickel and aluminum. We played a key role in uniting a divided nation after the Civil War, and we led the way into the future by providing free public education for all. Our forebears built a great state, and we continue to draw inspiration from their spirit of enterprise and innovation.
The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce was created by visionary leaders across business, banking, trade, industry, education and the arts to continuously push for state progress. Hailing from every sector and region, these founders shared a goal: to secure a prosperous, dynamic future by bringing together those who care deeply about this great state.
