The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce serves as a central hub for collaboration and growth. Our members employ over half of West Virginia’s workforce, emphasizing their critical role in exploring and advancing issues affecting employers, developing policy proposals for decision-makers and highlighting economic opportunities within the state.

Energy & Environment Division
Unites leaders in energy, environment and industry to provide leadership in establishing, shaping and implementing sound and workable policies and programs, benefiting West Virginia’s economic vitality through consensus of diverse energy and environmental interests.
- Manages a 200+-person group of environmental managers, specialists, attorneys and consultants who analyze energy and environmental regulatory issues and collaboratively develop recommendations
- Actively advocates before state and federal regulatory agencies for business and industry
- Works with state agencies to develop a state energy policy/plan
- Hosts the annual West Virginia Chamber Environmental & Energy Conference focusing on the latest energy and environmental issues of the day
- Promotes an “all-of-the-above” energy approach and sustainable practices

Economic Growth Division
Recommends and advances policies and programs that strengthen West Virginia’s economy and infrastructure by supporting state, local and industrial development, business growth, job creation and community improvement.
- Supports efforts to attract investment and job creation to West Virginia
- Advocates policies that will ensure West Virginia has solid infrastructure to support the 21st Century economy
- Supports small business initiatives with resources and tools.

Education, Workforce & Healthcare Division
Leads efforts to strengthen West Virginia’s education, workforce, healthcare systems and quality of life. By uniting business, education and workforce partners, this division provides leadership to effect change in policy and programs to improve student outcomes, grow workforce opportunities and expand access to quality healthcare.
- Drives education initiatives that improve student outcomes and effect change in policy and practice, as desired by members of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce
- Collaborates with education on workforce-aligned training
- Strengthen collaboration between business
- Provides policy leadership and expertise on issues that affect West Virginia with the goal of improving health systems and health status of its citizens
- Support policies that improve the state’s quality of life and competitiveness

Legal Fairness Division
Works to create a fair, balanced and predictable legal climate in West Virgina. Through monitoring actions by the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia, educating employers on how these decisions affect their business and informing West Virginia Chamber members this division ensures the state’s legal system supports economic growth and judicial integrity.
Monitors and analyzes Supreme Court of Appeals business-related decisions and publishes a yearly comprehensive overview for the West Virginia business community through CourtWatch.
- Ensures judicial oversight and accountability.
- Advocates for necessary changes to laws related to contributions to judicial races, fair mediation, collateral source rule, phantom damages reform, tort suits and more.
- Supports efforts to recruit and retain qualified, competent judges.
Government Affairs Roundtable
Provides proactive leadership in all areas of government relations relating to the overall business climate in West Virginia. By bringing together lobbyists across a wide variety of interests and engaging policymakers, this roundtable analyzes and affects policies that strengthen the state’s business climate and ensures the West Virginia Chamber remains the Voice of Business in West Virginia.
- Leads advocacy efforts at state and federal levels
- Convenes a coalition of business lobbyists across all sectors
- Enacts policies and legislation that benefits West Virginia employers
- Provides recommendations and strategic direction to The Chamber’s PAC, which has had an over 80% success rate in recent state election cycles

Women Leaders Working Group
Inspires, educates and engages women in leadership while building a strong network of allies. Through mentorship, advocacy and collaborative initiatives, this Working Group empowers current and future female leaders to strengthen West Virginia’s workforce and communities.
- Mentors high school and college students to grow the next generation of leaders.
- Advances philanthropic and community initiatives through the Women’s Leadership Summit.
- Advocates for workforce policies, including childcare solutions that support working families.
