Helping West Virginia Communities
Heavy rains and flash flooding severely impacted Ohio and Marion counties, West Virginia, over the weekend of June 14-15, 2025. This rare event saw up to 3 to 4 inches of rainfall in less than an hour in localized areas. West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey declared a State of Emergency for both Ohio and Marion counties due to the ongoing threat to health, safety, welfare and property.
Multiple fatalities and extensive damage to roads, bridges, buildings and homes have been reported. Thousands were left without power and the National Guard has been mobilized to support local emergency operations.

We are committed to helping to assist in providing assistance to the communities impacted by these harsh conditions, and we need your help to make a meaningful difference. Your contributions are crucial for making a meaningful difference.
Email Kathy Thomas at [email protected] to make a monetary donation. Please call 304-342-1115 if you have any questions.

Serving Up Love: Welch restaurant providing meals during McDowell flood recovery
In flood-affected McDowell County, Latin Appalachian restaurant in Welch has been providing thousands of free meals to residents in need since the mid-February flood. The eatery has transitioned to an emergency food hub, offering comforting meals and support.
