ICYMI: Capito participates in West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 89th Annual Business Summit

August 29, 2025

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) this week attended the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 89th Annual Meeting and Business Summit where she participated in a number of events with business and community leaders. Additionally, at the invitation of Senator Capito, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Administrator Arielle Roth also joined the Business Summit where she participated in a roundtable discussion focused on broadband and the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.

On Wednesday, Senator Capito attended a reception with Mountain Pure to announce their rebranding to become Valor Reserve. During the reception, Senator Capito was presented with the first Valor Reserve Award to thank her for her support. Senator Capito later delivered remarks at the 10th annual Friends of “Discover the Real West Virginia” (DRWV) reception. DRWV aims to showcase the best of West Virginia to the world, including the many competitive advantages West Virginia offers global manufacturers looking to invest.

On Thursday, Senator Capito addressed the entire business summit, providing an update on the latest from the U.S. Senate. Later, Senator Capito participated in a discussion hosted by the American Clean Power Association, which consisted of federal officials, state leaders, and industry executives discussing possible ways to collaborate to increase energy development and create jobs in West Virginia. Last, Senator Capito hosted a roundtable discussion on broadband and the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program with Arielle Roth, Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

“The West Virginia Chamber’s Annual Business Summit is always an energizing opportunity to hear directly from our state’s job creators, innovators, and community leaders. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to expand opportunity, strengthen our infrastructure, and grow our economy, but I know there’s more to do. The future of West Virginia depends on our ability to foster a pro-business, pro-growth environment in our communities, and summit’s like this one play a big part in that,” Senator Capito said.
