NEWS RELEASE: West Virginia Chamber Prepares for Record-Setting 90th Annual Meeting & Business Summit

August 27, 2026

90 years of speaking for business. 90 years of bringing West Virginia’s leaders together. 90 years of believing in what this state can become.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is preparing to welcome a record-setting crowd to The Greenbrier next week for the 90th Annual Meeting & Business Summit, Sept. 2–4, marking nine decades of bringing together the people who are shaping West Virginia’s future.

Under the theme “A Legacy That Leads,” this year’s Business Summit will celebrate a milestone that few organizations can claim while looking ahead to the work still to be done.

For 90 years, the West Virginia Chamber has served as a voice for the state’s business community, speaking for business, protecting free enterprise and working to build a stronger environment for growth.

And this year, that mission is stronger than ever.

The 90th Annual Meeting & Business Summit comes at a record-setting moment for the Chamber, with record attendance, record growth, record revenue and a record number of new members. Those numbers represent more than organizational milestones. They reflect a growing belief in the power and potential of West Virginia and a willingness among the state’s business leaders to invest in its future.

“This is a special moment for the West Virginia Chamber and for our state,” said Steve Roberts, president of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “For 90 years, this organization has brought people together around a simple but powerful belief: that West Virginia has tremendous potential, and that by working together, we can create a stronger future. This year’s record growth tells us that belief is stronger than ever.”

The Business Summit will once again bring together West Virginia’s best and brightest—business leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare professionals, economic developers, policymakers and community leaders—with one main thing in common: they believe in West Virginia.

For three days, those leaders will gather to exchange ideas, build relationships and identify the opportunities that will move our state forward.

“This is where conversations become ideas, ideas become action, and action becomes progress,” Roberts said. “The Business Summit is not simply a meeting. It is a reflection of what is possible when West Virginians come together with a shared purpose.”

That spirit has defined the Chamber for nine decades.

Throughout its history, the organization has helped lead efforts to advance policies and reforms that strengthen West Virginia’s economy, improve the business climate and create greater opportunities for its people. The Chamber’s role remains constant: to speak for business, to protect free enterprise and to build a stronger environment for growth.

The work is not about any one event, one legislative session or one generation of leaders. It is about building on what came before, while preparing West Virginia for what comes next.

“This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate our legacy, but it is not a time to simply look back,” Roberts said. “The best way to honor 90 years of progress is to keep moving forward. We have an incredible opportunity in front of us, and the people gathered at The Greenbrier next week are the people who can help seize it.”

The 90th Annual Meeting & Business Summit also comes as the nation celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, providing an additional opportunity to reflect on the principles of liberty, free enterprise, innovation and opportunity that have helped shape the country, and West Virginia, for generations.

For nine decades, the West Virginia Chamber has made its Annual Meeting a place where the state’s leaders come together to ask difficult questions, challenge conventional thinking and chart a course for what comes next.

The legacy is 90 years strong. The next chapter starts now.
