March 19, 2019
Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce will host featured speaker Dr. Steve L. Robbins at the Chamber’s inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Symposium on Tuesday, April 9. The Diversity and Inclusion Symposium will kick off the West Virginia Chamber’s two-day Human Resources Conference that will be held at the Charleston Marriott-Town Center.
West Virginia Chamber President Steve Roberts stated, “Dr. Robbins has a great story to tell from which we can all learn. Immigrating to the United States from Vietnam with his mother, he understands the challenges many face and how diversity and inclusion enhances and brings so much value to both the workplace and society at large.”
Dr. Robbins is known for simultaneously challenging and motivating people with a dynamic use of storytelling, humor and extensive knowledge of pertinent issues and concepts. He has an undergraduate degree in Communications from Calvin College, and holds a masters and doctorate in Communication Science from Michigan State University.
Roberts added, “West Virginia is a welcoming location, and spreading that message is critical. Promoting diversity and inclusion benefits all and is essential as our state continues its economic comeback. I especially want to think DOW for their partnership in bringing Dr. Robbins to West Virginia.”
