West Virginia Chamber Celebrates Strong Primary Election Night
May 11, 2022
Charleston, W.Va. – The voice of business rang true last night as the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce celebrated a strong primary election night.
The West Virginia Chamber congratulates West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner on conducting another flawless primary election Tuesday in congressional, state legislative and other races.
About 24% of the more than 1.1 million registered voters in West Virginia cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary races. Data indicates what we expected: a low voter turnout in much of the state, with higher amounts in hotly contested races. Tucker County had the highest voter turnout in the state.
The West Virginia Chamber PAC, the political arm of the Chamber, engaged in dozens of races across the state.
Steve Roberts, President of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, said, “The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce had a remarkable success rate, especially in primary elections where the electoral turnout is lower and typically driven by the base.”
Roberts continued, “Candidates whose races the Chamber engaged in are committed to fighting for policies that will further job creation and economic development, while leading to a higher quality of life for West Virginians.”
We would like to thank supporters for their dedication of the business community.
