October 1, 2020
Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee endorsed Governor Jim Justice in his re-election bid on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Governor Justice was joined by several members of the Chamber in a socially-distanced news conference on the front steps of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce office.
West Virginia Chamber President Steve Roberts stated, “The West Virginia Chamber PAC has a rigorous endorsement process that includes input and review from multiple member-committees, feedback from members, a thorough examination of an incumbent’s record, and a vote of the West Virginia Chamber’s Political Action Committee. In the case of Governor Justice, he qualified easily at each of these stages.”
Roberts continued, “Governor Justice’s many good works include improving our highways and secondary roads, working tirelessly to expand broadband internet connectivity, creating an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs, and boosting the many tourism opportunities we have. His work to make sure our students are well-prepared for the workforce of tomorrow through the First Lady’s Communities in Schools initiative and Jobs & Hope has been top notch.”
Roberts concluded, “The year 2020 has been one of much uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Governor Justice has provided much-needed steady leadership to guide our state through this health crisis. And for those citizens who have faced unemployment because of this pandemic, under his leadership the office of Workforce West Virginia has been working non-stop to make sure our citizens who are most in need are being helped. It is for these reasons and many more that the West Virginia Chamber PAC is proud to support Governor Jim Justice for a second term leading our state.”
