West Virginia Chamber PAC Celebrates Strong Election Night with Pro-Business Candidates

November 6, 2024

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The voice of business was heard loud and clear across West Virginia on Tuesday night, as pro-business candidates endorsed by the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (Chamber PAC) achieved an overwhelming level of success in the 2024 general election. With over 95% of Chamber PAC-supported candidates winning their races, it’s clear that West Virginians are ready for leadership that prioritizes economic growth, job creation and a strong business climate.

“We are thrilled with the results of this election,” said Steve Roberts, President of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a clear message from voters that they want more of the pro-business policies that have helped our state thrive. The candidates we supported are committed to expanding job opportunities, improving the state’s economic landscape and ensuring a higher quality of life for all West Virginians.”

A national red wave hit West Virginia as Republicans further strengthened their supermajorities in both the state Senate and House of Delegates. The House of Delegates grew by two Republicans, now holding a commanding 91-9 advantage, while the Senate increased by one Republican, expanding its majority to 32-2. Notably, not a single incumbent lost their seat in the state. The only changes in party control came in open-seat races, reflecting the continued strength of the GOP across the state.

The highlight of the evening was Governor-elect Patrick Morrisey, whose decisive victory was supported by the Chamber PAC. The PAC also saw strong wins in two U.S. congressional races and four statewide races, with each of the Chamber-endorsed candidates emerging victorious.

“We’re especially proud of the success of Governor-elect Patrick Morrisey and other Chamber backed candidates in critical statewide and local races,” Roberts continued. “We would also like to thank all the candidates, volunteers, and supporters who worked tirelessly to make this election a success.”

The West Virginia Chamber PAC is the political arm of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Members of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce are your small business neighbors. Chamber members employ over half of our state’s workforce and are found across our state. More information on the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce can be found at www.wvchamber.com.
